Your Hostess . . . Amy Loh Kupser
I have been an artist all my life, and have enjoyed both the design process and teaching. While I have enjoyed participating in my fair share of beading events. I have found that the educational portion can get quite expensive, and challenging. Often impossible to complete the beautiful but complex designs. Also many are focused solely on beadweaving, and not so many mixed media events available.
This is why I've created the UFO Bead Retreat. This is where you can bring a project that has been partially started, but now you need a helping hand to get going again.
Bring a project that you may have picked up at a bead show, online or a store and would like to get help with or just the chance to work on at a fun getaway!
It's also a chance to learn from local and national instructors teaching everything from beadweaving, to metal smithing, chain mail, wire wrapping, and who knows what other medium!
Mix and mingle with other creative souls. Make new friendships, learn new techniques or find ways to use old ones in new ways.
While I'll be encouraging the instructors to create projects that can be accomplished in approximately two hours, it's not required. Their class description will let you know approximately how long it will take a beginner to complete a specific project. They will provide a kit/pattern cost, plus a materials list so you can see if you already have all the components needed in your stash to bring to the retreat. They will also be offering a variety of their kits and patterns in a mini-trunk show during the retreat.
Interested in Teaching?
I am inviting local, national and international instructors, local beaders, wire workers, PMC, metal smiths and more to take part.
If you teach any type of beadwork or hand crafted jewelry techniques, and are interested in participating, drop me an e-mail, give me a call at 360.271.1410 or click here to learn more. I will be hosting the UFO Bead Retreat in locations AROUND the country! Each location will have different instructors. By coming close to where you live, I'm trying to make it more affordable for you to participate and educate while spreading the creativity!
